About The Artist

Dilara primarily questions life itself, and subsequently the concepts of the individual, society, culture, ethics, and belief within a framework of balance. The phrase “farz edelim ki / what if” has consistently served as the starting point of her thinking practices. In her works, she processes raw or raw-like textile materials using techniques and symbols that have been employed for thousands of years, adopting an approach that remains independent from the calendar. Since 2021, through the Ortak Mekik project led by Gülçin Aksoy, she has incorporated digital production into her practice. In these works, she creates new alternative worlds through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), drawing on environments, objects, and narratives familiar to the viewer from the physical world.

In 2024, she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree with her thesis titled "Investigation of the Animal Image as a Symbol in Anatolian Kilims". Dilara synthesizes ancient Anatolian weaving rituals with digital realities, interactive AR/VR installations, and spatial art—creating a continuous dialogue between collective human memory and the technologies of tomorrow.
