ALARM: Modern Age Griffin

2025 | Multi-Channel Interactive Installation | 1+5+1 Screen
"Rooted in mythological memory as a blend of power, wisdom, and intuition, the griffin has long been a guardian of the sacred and the unknown. Standing at the gates of ancient civilizations, it symbolizes both celestial authority and earthly strength. Today, it redefines its historical symbolism through digital means, becoming an alarm sensitive to the unseen signals of global crises, linking past archetypes to today’s fragile ecosystems. Ignorance, drought, radiation, rapid consumption, and the loss of human values appear in the symbolic limbs of the cheetah, gorilla, raven, molok, and cockroach. Each animal carries meanings inherited over thousands of years and translates them into a language shaped by real-time data. No longer just a mythological figure, the griffin folds layers of time, acting as both a warning of collapse and a symbol of solidarity, continuing to exist as a living alarm that calls humanity to awareness."

Anthrenus Verbasci

2023 | Virtual Reality (VR) Experience on Milas Carpet
"Is the world as we see it? This work, focusing on the effects of the size difference between objects and humans on the act of seeing, points to the variability of reality. Our surroundings are actually filled with thousands of things we see every day but do not notice. What if we were one of them, and how would it be to look at another? What we see through the eyes of what we see. We have become familiar with the macro and micro worlds, accompanied by technological advancements, and have been amazed by them. But what about the in-between dimensions? For instance, what is the reality of insects like? How would it be to empathize with a bug? Real or illusion? The size difference and distance between us and objects create our perception of reality. Is every perception that goes beyond this generally accepted reality and illusion? When the change in our size or distance is reflected in our perception, does it distort the reality of the object? Produced for the 'Ortak Mekik Project' in collaboration with MSGSÜ Carpet Studio and Koç University KARMA Lab."

Pazyryk Maidan

2023 | Virtual Reality (VR) Experience inside Pazyryk Carpet
"Dating back to the 5th-4th centuries BC, the Pazyryk Carpet, known as the oldest known carpet in history, was found in a kurgan filled with water and frozen in the Pazyryk region of the Central Asian steppes. It is thought to have been woven as a ceremonial carpet in terms of form and composition, and it features a maidan design. What would it be like to walk through this maidan?"
