Reinterpreting the mythological Griffin—traditionally the guardian of treasures and divine thresholds—into a contemporary ecological warning system. Through multi-screen installations and tactile fiber sculptures, this narrative explores modern humanity's survival instincts amidst environmental collapse.

Modern Age Griffin: Between Two Worlds, 2025

The dual imagery carried by the wings reveals the simultaneity of disaster and utopia: the left wing bears traces of drought, collapse, radiation density, and sensory erosion; while the right wing reflects peace, love, and collective healing. Rather than creating opposing poles, this duality exists side by side on the same plane of existence. It defines the fundamental structure of the composition by highlighting the griffin's role in maintaining balance and guarding the boundary between these two directions.

"Rooted in mythological memory as a blend of power, wisdom, and intuition, the griffin has long been a guardian of the sacred and the unknown. Standing at the gates of ancient civilizations, it symbolizes both celestial authority and earthly strength. Today, it redefines its historical symbolism through digital means, becoming an alarm sensitive to the unseen signals of global crises, linking past archetypes to today’s fragile ecosystems. Ignorance, drought, radiation, rapid consumption, and the loss of human values appear in the symbolic limbs of the cheetah, gorilla, raven, molok, and cockroach. Each animal carries meanings inherited over thousands of years and translates them into a language shaped by real-time data. No longer just a mythological figure, the griffin folds layers of time, acting as both a warning of collapse and a symbol of solidarity, continuing to exist as a living alarm that calls humanity to awareness."

"This griffin is a reflection of contemporary issues, most notably climate issues. Molok, Cockroach, Cheetah, Crow, and Gorilla respectively symbolize drought, radiation, speed, wisdom, and humanity. Some of these animals come together due to the absence of the concepts they represent, while others unite due to their harmful excessive presence."

"Contrary to the past, the frightening elements of today's world have been situations that directly affect our lives, such as drought and radiation. Drought, ignorance, loss of humanity and robotization, which are among the greatest fears of our age, inability to resist radiation and the progress of speed and laziness in direct proportion gave birth to the griffin of the 2000s. This surreal motif, consisting of cheetah, gorilla, crow, molok and cockroach, reflects humanity's future perception of divinity due to the unique survival abilities of the five animals.”"
